Edna Esther Gigax was born on 26 June 1882 at Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, USA; Ancestry.com. U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2015. This source gives 26 Jun 1882 as her birth date, which I believe to be correct, several other sources say 26 Jul 1882. Since the former is based on an application that she presumable made herself, I tend to believe it is correct. She married Edward Clifford Denbow, son of James Tanner Denbow and Sarah Catherine Rose, on 27 June 1906 at Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio, USA.1 Her married name was Denbow. After death of husband, spent time living with various children. Lived in Athens, Ohio, with son Carl for several years before going to California to be with daughters. Was talented in music; played the piano quite well. Was a most loving and caring grandmother.2 Edna Esther Gigax died on 16 January 1967 at California, USA, at age 84.2

It appears that Frederick and Hannah came to the USA in 1851. The last child recorded to have been born in Switzerland is Sophia (b.1851).
