Notes from Susan Sharp:
According to Vivian Doney Reid, Alec lived at 402 Cambria Street, but formerly lived in a much nicer home on Woodland Drive in Punxsutawney, Pa. According toJean, Reid Edwards is also buried on the Reid family plot in Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney, Pa. with Alexander Reid is his first wife, Lizzie; his daughter and her husband, Rose and Tom Hastings; and an unnamed infant of Alex's daughter, Myrtle Reid Parsons.
These last four graves are unmarked. I went to the Circle Hill Cemetery office to verify this and was told all the records had been destroyed in a flood. Also on the plot is a large stone marking the grave of Ruth Reid Simpson and the grave of Virginia Kellert Reid, Alex's second wife is also marked. According to Vivian Doney Reid, Alexander Reid went to the United Brethren Church in Punxsutawney, Pa. I asked why not the Presbyterian Church? She said the United Brethren Church was closer. The certificate of membership of Alexander Reid in the Coudersport, Pa. Consistory for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, dated June 23, 1921 is in the possession of Susan Reid Sharp.
