Estate of Benjamin Sharp Decd. Be it remembered that heretofore to wit at a Court of Common Pleas began and held at Carrollton within and for the County of Carroll on the 14th day of August A.D. 1837 before the Hon Geo. Belden President, Geo Davis, George Reynolds and Robert George Esqr associate judges of said court in said county. The last will and testament of Benjamin Sharp decd was brought into Court the two subtending? witnesses there to being?. I now say that they saw the testator sign said will that they signed said will as witnesses in the presence of the Testator that the testator when he signed said will was of sound mind and memory of [legal] age and not under any restraint thereupon the same is approved and ordered to be recorded with the proof taken which is in the words and figures following to wit: The last will and testament of Benj Sharp of Perry Township Carroll County State of Ohio in the name of God.
Benjamin Sharp considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same do write and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form the following that is to say:
First I give bequeath? unto my beloved wife Julian Sharp all my estate real and personal for her to have and to hold so long as she remains my widow and if she gets married again then she is to have one third of all real and personal property and the remaining two thirds to be divided among my children share and share alike John T., Marian, Susannah Sarah, Jane, Abraham, Elisabeth, and William to be equally parted and divided among them share and share alike and to be paid and delivered unto my sons and daughters as they become of age according to Law and lastly as to all the rest residueand remainder of my personal estate goods and chattels of what kindand nature so ever I give and bequeath the same to my said belovedwife Julean Sharp whom I hereby appoint sole executrisc of this mylast will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me ? In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day June A.D. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Benjamin Sharp to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his prescence have subscribed our names thereto as witnesses Isaac Kirby, Samuel Williams, Joseph Allen.
Juleana Sharp the executrix came into Court and elected to take under the will of her husband and declared serving as such executrix thereupon the Court appointed Juliana Sharp and Samuel Williams admr to said Estate Bond oredered to be given in the sum of six hundred dollars Joseph Allen and Isaac Kirby were accepted as security. Thomas Talbot, Zechariah Thompson and William Patterson were appointed approved ?? appraisers of Property. Thereupon letters of Administration were ? and recorded on Letter Record page 55. 2. Received 20 SepA.D. 1837 of Juliann Sharp one of the administrators of Benjamin Sharp deceased, three dollars for services as Attorney in relation to matters of said Benjamin Sharp, ded, estate. J. Pearce Atty at Law

Know all men by these presents, that, we Samuel Williams, Juliana Sharp, Isaac Kirby & Joseph Allen of the county of Carroll, Ohio, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Ohio, in the sum of six hundred dollars, to which payment, well and truly to be made unto said state of Ohio, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators, and every of them jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Signed and sealed this 15th day of August eighteen hundred and thirty seven. The condition of this obligation is such, that if the above named Samuel Williams and Juliana Sharp Adm of Benjamion Sharp late of said county, deceased, shall faithfully perform the duties required of them as such admns by law, and shall administer aggreeably to the statutes of Ohio, in such cases made and provided, then this obligation to be void and of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law. John Wert November 19, 1839 Record of Guardianship: Carroll County, Probate Record B (1844-1847), Pages 178,179, & 180. At a special session of The Court of Common Pleas in Carroll County, Ohio, held in the office of the Clerk on Wednesday, 9 October 1844, a guardian was chosen for the minor children of Benjamin Sharp: Susan Sharp-aged 16 yrs. 11 August 1844; Sarah Jane Sharp-aged14 yrs. 5 March 1844; Abraham Sharp-aged 13 years -no date readable-; (these children chose Joseph Allen as their guardian). Elisabeth Sharp- aged 11 yrs. 11 October 1844; William Sharp-aged 9 yrs. 2 November ? 1844 (the court appointed Joseph Allen as their guardian). This same case is referenced in the Carroll County, Ohio, Probate Docket Book (1833-1847) , Pages 220 & 221, Case No. 889.(I did not see this case file.)
Benjamin Sharp died between June 9, 1837 and August14, 1837. James Sharp, Jr.'s Estate and Benjamin Sharp's Will were presented for probate at the same time on 14 August 1837. Did they die at the same time? Where are they buried?

On 9 August 1828, Benjamin Sharp, Thomas Sharp, Martha Denbo, Sally Sharp, Rebecca Sharp, James Sharp Junier,and Kissiah Sharp of Harrison County, Ohio sold to James Sharp (County?) for $104.86 and 1/4 cents the following described tract of land: the West half South East 2nd of Section No. 24, Township No. 12, Range 5 containing 83 acres & 89/100at the rate of $1.25 per acre. On January 1829 Benjamin Sharp purchased ata Sheriff's Sale advertised in The Harrison Telegraph, a newspaper printed at Cadiz, Ohio in Harrison County, for $130.25 the West half of the South East quarter of Section No. 30 in Township 12, Range 5 ofthe Steubenville District containing 84 acres. On 20 January 1829 Benjamin Sharpand Juleyan his wife of Harrison County, Ohio sold to Casper Uptegraft of Harrison County for $105 the North West quarter of Section 11 in Township 13 of Range 6 containing 80 acres. Harrison County, Ohio, Deed Book D, Page 480, Deed Benjamin Sharp to Joseph Creal. On 7 April 1829 Benjamin Sharp and Julyan his wife of Harrison County, Ohio sold to Joseph Creal of Jefferson County, Ohio for $500 the North half of the North West quarter of Section 11 inTownship 13 of Range 6 containing _____ acres.(Parcel of land andmill) Witnesses George Allbaugh and James Sharp.
Harrison County, Ohio, Deed Book F, Page 178. Deed Robert Gibson to Benjamin Sharp. On 6 May 1831 Robert Gibson and Sarah his wife of Harrison County, Ohio, sold to Benjamin Sharp of the same County for $52.50 a part of the East half of the South East Quarter of Section 30 in Township 12 of Range 5 of the lands sold at Steubenville to be laid out as follows:42 acres to be surveyed off the South end of said East half by paralellines being the breadth of the half quarter Section East and West and 82 and 3/10 ? poles North and South?
