Susan Sharp Research Notes
"The Story of Kilgore Goose Run and Mingo" by Inona Albaugh Burrier, pages 35 & 36: "Crossing the road in the Northwest quarter of section 17-t12-r5 is the old Hogue farm. I suppose it was settled by William Hogue's grandfather as there is a grave in the Cemetery Lutheran part at Kilgore of a Mrs. Hogue, Sarah Hogue 1810. No one seemed to know the name of William's father. He married Hannah Sharp and had two sons -- William and Robert. On account of the way Mr. Hogue died (suicide), he was not allowed to be buried at the cemetery. Hannah is buried beside her son, Robert, he was never married. William married Belle Patterson, they had three daughters. Mary Thompson, she followed in her grandfather's footsteps and is buried at Kilgore. Mattie was real queer. Grace married Jesse Wood. The Hogues lived all for themselves. Many a time we were run off from gathering a few chestnuts on our way home from school. Then another time they killed their neighbor's chickens for getting into their pasture. Following the creek southwest a few hundred yards we leave Louden Township and enter Perry. I don't know why I have they were married in Maryland."
