Last Will and Testamentof Nick Tadsen dated 23 January 1930 and Letters of Administration dated 6 April 1965. Copy given to me by Kathryn Tadsen Sharp. Nick Tadsen and his father, Magnus, built the house he and his wife lived in all their married life. When they first moved into the house, Nick's new bride, Dora cried because they "moved so far into the country." The house is located at 317 Jackson Street, about three blocks from downtown Port Clinton. In the 1910 U.S. Census for Ottawa County, Ohio it said that Nick and Dora rented their house. I asked Nick's daughter, Kathryn Tadsen Sharp, about this. She said that her mother and father paid Magnus Tadsen $6.00 per month "rent" just enough to cover the taxes. She used to take the "rent" to her grandparents and they would give her a quarter. Nick was a member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club and also helped to build it. He was also a carpenter who worked on The Victory Hotel on Put-In-Bay. (See clipping)
