John Frederick Gigax was a post office employee and during part of his career he worked on post office trains sorting mail enroute.1 John was born and raised in Zanesville, Ohio. He moved to Pittsburgh to live his adult life. He was employed by the Pennsylvania and Lake Erie Railroad as a clerk and later worked for the Southern Railroad as the Pittsburgh Freight Agent until he retired in 1947.1
